What's On: Fall Fairs & an Election Reminder for Our Area

A few things happening around Markham, Stouffville, and Uxbridge worth knowing about — whether you're a longtime neighbour or just getting to know the area:

• Uxbridge Fall Fair — September 11–13, 2026. Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year ("Pulling Generations Together for 50 Years"), at Elgin Park. Expect the midway, demolition derby, tractor pulls, horse shows, and a classic car cruise-in. A bonus 50th Anniversary Tractor Pull runs the evening before, Thursday, September 10.
• Markham Fair — October 1–4, 2026. One of the region's biggest fall traditions returns to the Markham Fairgrounds.
• Markham Municipal Election — October 2026. Online voting runs October 16–26, with in-person voting October 23–26. 63 candidates are running across mayor, regional council, ward council, and school trustee seats. If you're a Markham homeowner, it's worth checking your voter registration status ahead of time at ElectionsMarkham.ca.
